Independent artist, based in Ghent (BE). When I was 13 I bought myself a second hand guitar and I have been writing songs ever since. I taught myself to play, picked up the bass, fooled around with synthesizers, drum computers and DAW's. The last 4 years I've been performing songs of Johnny Cash with my tribute band The Man in Black Group. Since corona I've started recording my own songs. I guess Johnny Cash is always lurking somewhere in my vocals and lyrics, but my love for singer-songwriters such as Leonard Cohen and artists such as Nick Cave is prominent as well, I think. Some people have compared my voice with those of the singers of Editors and Bastille. Like those bands I enjoy combining guitars and electronics. Also I've always been a great fan of Prince and of Frank Zappa, but my goal is to make mainstream pop music. I write songs about lust, love and passion, about heartbreak and pain, about suffering, about life and death and about the state the world and the planet are in. Now corona ‘ cooling down, I will be performing my songs solo in small venues. In time I’d like to put a band together.
