Born in Belfast, and having lived in various UK cities and Berlin while growing up and studying, Tender Claws is now based in Liverpool. As an independent alternative rock artist, she is inspired by grunge and alternative rock artists such as PJ Harvey, Queens of the Stone Age, and many grunge acts of the 90s; as well as punk pioneers like Iggy Pop and Adam & The Ants. Her resulting gritty, raw sound is accompanied by her dark vocals. She formed a band through networking at music venues and online which she performs live and records with. She began gigging around Merseyside in 2023 and most recently performed at Future Now festival on 24/08 at Future Yard in Birkenhead. She released her debut single, ‘Anglerfish’, in June 2024 which has received continued airplay from Amazing Radio, and has been described as “an enigmatic, grungey track” and “deep and powerful” in reviews. She recorded another track at the same time as ‘I’m a Leech’ which will be released in late 2024.
