Surfing Stingrays are an independent and experimental psych-rock band from Amsterdam consisting of the four most musical lunatics in the Netherlands. The band was formed in 2016 by high school friends Petya Bouianov (guitar/vocal), Iwan Haensel (bass), Arthur Ermakov (drums/vocals), and later expanded by David Glotzbach (synth). Ranging from their roots in 60’s rock to modern neo-psychedelic music they set out to explore the wondrous world of eclectic rock experimentation. Like a stingray surfing the sea, they effortlessly combine various musical disciplines inspired by the likes of The Beatles, Grateful Dead, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. After years of extensive sonic experimentation in the lab, their sound was fully developed with blissful harmonies, wrecking riffs, and a touch of odd-time fuckery. With their prog-rock/punk/smooth jazz influenced sophomore album "Red Pill Society" set for release in early 2023 they are ready to deliver psychedelic, transcendental, and sweaty live shows to every venue in the Netherlands and beyond!
