Siren’s Sky is my studio project where I collaborate with various singers. After having worked with singers from the U.S. for a number of years, collaborations have gravitated towards Dutch singers close to my hometown: Marina Huisman, “The Dine", SheMara and Hella. By the way, my name is Herbert Kaptein.
Before starting Siren’s Sky, I was the songwriter/guitar player in the Rotterdam based New Wave/Alternative Rock bands Eyes Are Blind and The Undertow. My guitar orientated music combines alt rock and classic rock in an instantly recognizable melodic mix.
After being floored by a pretty nasty disease in 2010 I started Siren's Sky during 2015 as a studio project.
During 2020 I teamed up with Dutch vocalist Marina Huisman, former singer of Deli Juice. Our first appearance on stage was on November 29th 2020 where we had the honor to play at the Dutch Freedom tour.
In 2021 several new songs were released with Marina (Forgotten, Eye Of The Storm), The Dine (Freedom) and SheMara (I Feel Pain) on vocals. On January 1st 2023 the single Under My Skin was released featuring Hella on vocals, who also wrote the heartfelt lyrics.
