Semistereo emerged from the deafening silence of the sloughy land, under the heavy smoke of Amsterdam and right next to where massive flying machines find their temporary home. The most recent full length album Zabriskii (2019) is self-produced, and is recorded at the band’s own studio and at e-Sound studio by Thomas Cochrane.  The album is mixed by Guido Aalbers (the Gathering, Muse, Miss Montreal, Coldplay), and mastered by the great Andy Vandette, who contributed to many albums by artists like Beastie Boys, Rush and Porcupine Tree.  Semistereo  can best be described as a crossover between alternative and progressive rock. Strong melodies, organic grooves, atmospheric soundscapes and biting voluminous eruptions are the ingredients.
