Pleena C.

I am a 61-year old female guitarist/songwriter, a.k.a. Pleena C. and have been writing songs since I was 16-17 years old. Inspired by power-pop and rock bands from the sixties and seventies like the Who, the Doors and David Bowie - to name just a few, I soon learned how to play the guitar and how to emulate those great sounds. I have played in mainly local pop and rock bands and most recently in a sixties music cover band, that is, until the Covid-19 crisis struck. The upside of the Covid-19 crisis is that I’ve been able dive into my home studio and get a few songs recorded. The album (or is it an EP with just 8 songs?) Get A Grip is the result. Although the music definitely has its roots in the past, the lyrics deal with contemporary issues such as dictatorship, terrorism, discrimination and gun violence
