Approaching country music in a modern and sometimes humoristic way, the members of Pete’s Southern Slideshow provide a fresh take on the genre. Influences from pop, funk, soul and (blues)rock make for unique additions and a characteristic sound, while insp iration from artists such as Ryan Adams, Ilse DeLange, John Mayer and Mercy John form a solid base for Pete’s music. The brand new americana band is made up of five young Rockacademie students who utilise three part vocal harmonies, drums, bass, electric a nd acoustic guitars to perform both energetic powersongs as well as sorrowful tearjerkers. Pete’s Southern Slideshow does not hail from the tradition of patriotic, Godfearing gunslingers, but instead aims to provide their own unique americana experience with a musically modern approach and a healthy dose of self awareness.
