Peter (1999) is a bassist, and also a Vocalist. He is currently studying both Double bass (4th year, Matthias Nowak/John Goldsby) and voice (2nd year, Sabine Kühlich) at the conservatory of maastricht. His first priority has ways been developing freedom in his playing. Being able to play whatever he thinks of, or whatever he feels. First only on the Double-bass, with which he played on festivals like the North Sea Jazz festival. And later he tried to sing and play at the same time. This slowly developed in his main project. In 2019 he won second Prize at the Christina Concours with his trio. The Jury had this to say: “Star potential; thats the word that lingers when the dust has settled after his performance. Unbelievable that you sing so well and simultaneously play the double bass at such a high level. What stands out is the intonation the dynamics and expression.” -Jury of The Christina Concours After this, things started to develop quickly. He has been to two study trips to New York. Met, and had lessons with a number of people, including Jay Anderson, Nikkie Perrot, JD Walter, Kenny Davis and John Pattituci. He recorded several records including two E.P.’s with the famous American guitar player Gary Lucas. (Known from his work with Jeff Buckley and Captain beefheart) And he is of course playing all over the place; with this Solo program, several Duos including one with Sabine Kühlich and one with Johan de Haan, and with his own trio program.
