Paul Cherryseed

As a troubadour Paul Cherryseed sings and speak from the heart. Sad, fruitful, redeeming or happy stories, with hope and Good news. The journey as a troubadour began in the L’abricommunity in Eck en Wiel, but he tries to make his home now almost everywhere. Solo, or with the band. He performs in living rooms, churches, on the streets, in prison, cafes, festivals and communities. In may 2013 the first album came out, ‘The Desert, The Dew & The Dawn’ on Go West Records. Produced by Rob Vermeulen. English rhythmic and fragile folksongs about fruitful land, joy, redemption and a girl with coloured pencils in her hair. The album was nominated for a Zilveren Duif Award, the Dutch version of the Dove Awards. In 2016 Cherryseed dove deep into old black gospel, resulting in a second album, ‘The Story of Saint Anonymous’. Rhythmic folksongs about refugees, innocent prisoners, Bethlehem and Scotland. The most well-known song is 'Roaming Stone', a charitysingle he made to help refugees. His latest release is Fishlove (2019), a record with stories & rhythms from the North-East and heart of Brazil. Forró, samba, choro in the mix with folkpop, with deep lovesongs about hard-working farmers, merry mamas, moving missionaries and about his lovely wife Ilse. Artwork is made by Brazilian artist Jorge Costa. Cherryseed produced the album with Chris den Dulk. He worked together with musicians like Ilse Roskam, Elbert Smelt, Marco Santos, Rob & Lee Ann Vermeulen, Elizabeth Fadel and Jonny Boston.
