Nelleke is what you could call an old soul, or at least that’s how the people who meet her describe her. At first sight we see a young, calm and gathered observant woman, but one who looks closer sees her translations of all the crazy paradoxes she experiences; through her music and her sense of humor on and off stage. Like all human beings, she explores her duality: peace, anger, femininity, masculinity (whatever that means) and expresses that through her voice, instruments and softwares. Although she’s always been writing her own music, Nelleke started in the musical theater sphere from a very young age which is easily noticeable when she gets on stage: silence takes over, heads stop moving and all you can hear is the audience's emotions build up. That incredible ability to captivate and lock the audience’s attention through her powerful voice, stage presence and soulful songs is what made Nelleke graduate Cum Laude both from Codarts University of the Arts of Rotterdam and Berklee College of Music. While she’s working towards the release of her debut EP with a 360° team, Nelleke is introducing herself to the music industry as an independent artist and is gaining organic and long term fans one at a time. She released her two first singles 'hotel song' and 'the return' at the end of 2022, and both have struck the attention of creative syncs across labels, and met great playlistability metrics, as she’s planning a European tour from May 2023. Her debut EP ‘bird/ on concrete’ is planned to be released in April 2023 through premium distributor RecordJet.
