Mikah Maquá

Mikah Maquá is a Dutch-Canadian singer-songwriter. Her relatable yet catchy pop songs explore her struggles and darker sides, her highs and lows. She does this with a healthy dose of irony, self-deprecation, but also self-empowerment and vulnerability. Think of her experiences with ADHD and imposter syndrome, as well as her deep longing for justice. Her music resonates with fans of artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Holly Humberstone, Paramore, Alanis Morissette, 1975, Julia Michaels, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift. Expect catchy pop melodies, slap-you-in-the-face lyrics, and energetic live shows where you’re sometimes invited to laugh at the things you’d normally shed a tear over. Mikah’s performances aren’t standard shows, but gatherings for feelers and oversharers alike: spaces where your emotions are welcome, especially the ones people often try to filter out. In 2023, she graduated in songwriting from the Rockacademie and gave a showcase concert to a full house at venue 013. She also started an international pop-folk trio called AL ALMA, with which she performs throughout the Netherlands. She continues to actively hone her songwriting skills by attending various writing camps, including at the iconic Wisseloord Studios, New Skool Rules, and internationally in Paris and Marrakech. Mikah has performed at multiple festivals, both nationally and internationally, and was a two-time finalist at the European Music Contest in the singer-songwriter category (2018 and 2021). Since 2025, she has been part of the Hedon Beurs trajectory, where she continues to develop as an artist.
