Over the past years, Mayflower Madame has gained a reputation far beyond their hometown of Oslo, Norway. They made their debut with the album "Observed in a Dream" in 2016, which received rave reviews and earned them tours across Europe and North America, while 2020's long-awaited sequel "Prepared for a Nightmare" firmly established their position as one of the continent’s leading purveyors of cinematic psych-gaze swathed in 1980s post-punk and dark romanticism. The covid-19 pandemic hit hard just after their sophomore release, which made the title even more fitting than expected, but in 2022 Mayflower Madame finally returned touring in the UK, France and Eastern Europe. Last year the band focused on writing and recording new music while also releasing a Deluxe Version of "Prepared for a Nightmare" containing 5 new bonus tracks. Their third album "Insight" has been mixed & mastered by renowned Italian engineer Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher, The Vacant Lots) and will be released November 1st 2024. The first two singles - "A Foretold Ecstasy" and "Paint It All in Blue" - has received much acclaim and shows a band that has refined their signature blend of post-punk, shoegaze and psychedelia into a sharper, more dynamic soundscape. Mayflower Madame is Trond Fagernes (vocals, guitar, bass) and Ola J. Kyrkjeeide (drums). On studio recordings they are joined by Kenneth Eknes (synth) and for live performances additional musicians are brought in to form a full band.
