My epic journey started with me being 13 years old and getting my first electric guitar and an amplifier. My first song was called 'Sylvester' and i still don't know what that was all about, but I started a whole band based on that song. We called ourselves 'The us' (very original:) At first i was a singer with a guitar and later put the guitar away and became a lead singer in a number of bands: Proxima Centauri (symphonic rock), Sword (hard rock with a single called 'I've been trying'), Face Lift a Rock and Roll band with a Glam touch to the songs and in the 1980's I finished my musical journey with my new wave band World's End (single Spy in Rome) and a record deal with `POLYDOR`. In 1989 I quit the music scene. I had enough of all the commercial influences from the record company. Now, 31 years later and being the old man Neil Young sang about, I woke up one day in 2020 and felt that I wanted to make a couple new albums about my Hippie days in the 60/70's in Amsterdam where I grew up. It's september 2020 when I write this about my musical journey and i finished composing 37 new songs about my hippie period. The first song I have put out there with all the streaming media is called "Freedom (Fight No More)" I produced that song at home in the Covid19 period where studios weren't open for recording. Many albums will follow after this. The first one in 2021... This protest song/single ‘Freedom (Fight No More)’ is about embracing everyone, regardless of their colour, sex, sexual orientation, religion or ethnicity. Because in the end we are just one race: The Human Race. Once we start accepting and respecting everyone for who they truly are and treating each other as equals, the world would be a much more peaceful place. Love and Peace from Maurice [Hirschhaut]
