lowaddictssoundsystem

A powerful, warm electronica-act that moves between house, pop and trip-hop: that’s the best way to describe LowaddictsSoundsystem. The typical Lowaddicts-ambiance gives you the urge to dance but also the feeling of dreaming away on a warm summer night. Dillan, Maaike and Tessa, all coming from different musical backgrounds, combined their forces, resulting in the Lowaddicts-sound. The name LowaddictsSoundsystem is a reference to the yearly Lowlands Festival: A place where all possible forms of music can exist next to each other and where ambiance is the most important factor. Something that also applies to LowaddictsSoundsystem. In their music, atmosphere is always central and with that they create a place where everything; style, musical background and personality comes together. From solo-, to duo, to trio act. Dillan started as a producer in 2013 under the name LowaddictsSoundsystem. After two years of experimenting with different sounds and styles he met Maaike. What started out as a collaboration as vocalist and producer, quickly turned into a full-fledged duo. In 2020 LowaddictsSoundsystem collaborated with several artists, which was bundled on their EP ‘Fuse’. One of those collaborations, the one with Tessa, was such a fit, that they decided to merge into a trio. LowaddictsSoundsystem also works together with Tim Thornton, the drummer of Fink. With his input the singles ‘This Is Not Your World’ and ‘Gulfstream’ were made, but also the more recent single ‘Lies’ comes from their joined forces. They played at venues such as Paradiso, Melkweg (Amsterdam), they played at Bevrijdingspop Haarlem and they were a guest at national radio stations such as 3fm. The remix of ‘Hide & Seek’ (made by Paul Hazendonk) got picked up by Tiësto and last but not least, they were a part of the selection of Popronde 2020. At the moment the trio is busy in the studio working on a brand-new live show which will premiere on September 24th in Patronaat Haarlem Sounds like: Bonobo, Moderat, Kiasmos, Underworld
