Kofko (born as Wybe Wiersma in 1997) is a Dutch artist and inter-disciplinary composer; working in alternative rock and pop music, classical music and with visual artists. Wanting to be able to produce his own music as well, he started his second bachelor (classical) Composition and Music Production at the Prins Claus Conservatory after finishing his bachelor guitar at ArtEZ Conservatory of Zwolle. Having played in numerous rockbands such as The Mandrills and Curnoi he’s now working on his first releases as Kofko and Kofko’s Courtesy at his self-proclaimed label Double Double You Records. Frequently working together with Fynn van der Ziel on short animations, he also collaborated with Ieva Graubaskaitei on her award-winning animation Lucid (2022). His instincts for 80’s movie cliches came to fruition in his first filmscore for the shortfilm Het Geschrift van Reinier (2021). A part of his first pianoconcerto was recorded by the NNO with French Pianist Thomas Le Guenne (2022). He moreover composed a part of Opera Spanga’s After The Flood (2022).
