Beneath a sky filled with smoke from the Dutch States Mines factory, in the narrowest part of the Netherlands, way down south, lies a little town called Sittard, the hometown of Jef America. In a region dominated by people favouring Oktoberfest and The King Of Waltz, Jef has been a driving force for the alternative scene of Sittard for many years. Organising Thrift Shop Lounge parties, Punk/Metal karaoke evenings and jam sessions, led to a group of close friends making music together and forming bands such as Seymour Sachs and Walden. Jozef Au Bain Marie is a solo project, intended for releasing material Jef finds unsuitable for either of the bands he plays in. All songs are recorded at home on a Fostex 160 four track tape recorder and a bunch of DIY-modified guitars, flimsy synths, crappy drum machines, etc.
