Jerry Spin brings nostalgic pop noir with a British flair. Songs pulsating on sexy grooves, draped in wobbly synths, string machines and tape delays that wow and flutter and blared apart by eery, distorted guitars at opportune moments. Jerry Spin's first single 'Offshores' gained immediate Belgian press coverage in Knack Focus and was immediately picked up by leading national radio stations Radio 1 and Radio 2. The upcoming debut EP called 'Beasts' (Spring 2023) was recorded with producer and mixing engineer Xavier De Clercq, who plays with Noémie Wolfs, and was written and recorded in collaboration with musicians such as Eline Flintrop (Muri), Ruben Vanhoutte (Tamino), and Daan Van Isterdael (Pavlove). Jerry Spin is the musical alter ego of Jeroen De Gussem (Ghent, BE), who combines his lifelong passion for story-telling (“spinning” stories) with music. In his lyrics, Jerry explores themes of love, life, loss and memory, exposing his fascination with the human condition, with society, and with the repetitive nature of history. Jeroen’s taste in music has been strongly influenced by charismatic front singers such as Damon Albarn, Eels, Matt Berninger, Adrianne Lenker, Beck, Jack White, and Alex Turner, all of whom are artists that have always succeeded in staying themselves no matter whether a song requires to be loud and aggressive or silent and disarming.
