The story of the Dutch indie-rock band ‘Jacamar’ begins with the song-writings and home-recordings of it’s frontman singer/songwriter Randy Haas. In the summer of 2021 he wants his ideas to be played live and so he managed to form 'Jacamar' consisting of some of his best friends from Amsterdam and Rotterdam. It turns out to be a golden combination. In 2021 Jacamar recorded their first EP at IJland Studio Amsterdam by sound-engineer Remko Schouten, who had worked with Pavement and many more. His experience and recording skills perfectly fitted the creative mindset of the band and brought in the right flow and good vibes. Jacamar’s first single ‘Great in the sun’ concludes it all, with it’s loose summervibes it brings the sunshine to the ear and heart of every listener. Their following release 'Nighttime' (October 2021) as a counterpart, reveals the more darker side of the band's songwriting spectrum. Jacamar released their first 5-track EP 'Stand tall' in the fall of 2021 and promoted it on many stages and city-festivals. After some years of playing live and writing new material in their own rehearsal space at 'The Ceuvel' in Amsterdam, Jacamar decided to release some new songs and recorded their upcomming EP in the summer of 2024. They met recording and mixing engineer Mark O, who also has his studio 'ShipShape Recordings' at 'The Ceuvel' and together they produced 5 tracks. Including their first single 'In This Town' that was released on the 14th of February 2025. "In This Town" has more of a live feel to it and is easy to dance along with. And if the psychadellic artwork by Gaia Haas @eyesfordinner doesn't get you going, the fuzzy soundscapes and dirty loops will do so". Jacamar will release their new EP this spring, and will hit the stages and summer festivals to promote their new music!
