Hookmeister is the solo project of Dutch producer, songwriter and guitarist Viktor Beekman. After years with alt-pop/rock band Yellow Pearl - including national exposure through the Dutch Song Festival - he shifted focus to writing and producing on his own terms. That freedom led to a growing catalogue of songs built around strong hooks, guitar-driven energy and 80s-tinged synth textures. When Yellow Pearl singer Emiel Pijnaker heard one of Viktor’s early demos (originally written in 2011), it sparked a renewed collaboration. The result is ‘Please Come Around’ - a track that feels both like a reunion and a fresh start. Built on driving guitars, big retro synths and a chorus that sticks, it blends anthemic alt-rock with subtle nods to the 80s and 90s, while staying firmly rooted in the present. As Hookmeister, Viktor leans into contrast: intimate verses, big emotional payoffs, and a sound that balances indie grit with radio-ready hooks. Influences range from The Killers to Nirvana to Depeche Mode, but the focus is always on feel over formula.
