Hausse is a four-piece band from Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Built on decades of musical friendship, the band is made up of Aran Jeurissen (vocals/guitar), Frank Litjens (guitar), Harm Buddiger (bass), and Mike Franssen (drums). While the members first connected through the Dutch thriving punk, metal, and hardcore scenes of the 1990s, their current sound moves in a more melodic and layered direction, drawing on a wide range of influences without being defined by their heavier roots. Their bond as friends and musicians forms the core of Hausse’s creative energy. Their collective history runs deep. Vocalist and guitarist Aran Jeurissen has built a reputation through his solo project Songs of Aran, with two well-received albums (Nothing Personal, Into The Waves) and performances at Valkhof Festival, Oranjepop, and other Dutch stages. His songwriting brings emotion and clarity to Hausse’s sound, often drawing from personal experiences and themes of connection, vulnerability, and resilience. Guitarist Frank Litjens comes from the heavier side of the spectrum. He fronted Spitting Nails, whose 2017 album Red Dawn was praised by critics (85/100 on Lords of Metal, and described as “almost perfect” by PitKings). He also played in Forefront and Dawn of Anger, respected names in the regional scene that built a loyal following through their high-energy live shows. Bassist Harm Buddiger shared the stage with Frank in Dawn of Anger, helping shape their tight musical bond. Their longstanding collaboration is evident in Hausse’s musical chemistry and live dynamic. Drummer Mike Franssen adds drive and restraint where needed, anchoring Hausse’s evolving style with a mix of power and precision gained from years of live and studio work. His steady presence and versatility allow the band to shift comfortably between atmospheric ballads and more urgent, driving tracks. The band became a finalist in the global Bodog Battle of the Bands, where they competed for a $1 million recording contract—a major achievement that followed a series of successful live performances across the Netherlands and beyond. This international recognition gave the band valuable exposure and opened doors for further development and networking in the industry. The band has played respected venues like 013 (Tilburg), Paradiso (Amsterdam), and Mezz (Breda), and continues to develop a strong live following. Their recent singles, including Stay With Me, showcase a band that has found its identity: melodic, grounded, and built to last. New material is currently in production, with releases planned for the coming months. While their early friendships were forged in underground subcultures, Hausse’s current music leans more into guitar-driven pop and 80s atmospheres. Their Spotify playlist “Adored by Hausse” reveals a wide-reaching set of inspirations, from shoegaze to noise rock and beyond. Hausse has also carved out a presence in Dutch media. Their music has seen regular rotation on Pinguin Radio, and members Aran and Harm co-hosted the radio show RN7 Live, where their latest track Borderline was premiered. With a sound that balances instinct and craft, and a foundation built on long-standing collaboration, Hausse is a band ready for the next step.
