Ewan Clay is the frontman of Bristol-based post-punk band Battery Point but is now stepping out on his own with his debut solo release, All God’s Creatures. Originally from Portishead, Ewan's solo music explores themes such as loss, coastal life, and desire. Influenced by modern folk artists like Lisa O'Neil and Lau, and the lyricism of artists such Leonard Cohen and Adrienne Lenker. Recorded at the recently closed Alma Vale Studios in Bristol, the release features a more stripped-back sound, with Ewan collaborating with school friends Rosie Collings, Harry Martin, and George Frost on vocals. The track Love Will Always See You Through in the End marks a shift toward something more simple and hopeful, challenging himself to step away from his usual bleakness. Ewan plans to form a new band with those who helped on this project and hopes to follow up with more solo music in the future.
