Easy Tears is the reverb-soaked creation of London based songwriter Lewis Goswell. With his influences set firmly in the eighties thanks to his father’s record collection, Goswell draws inspiration from the guitar-based ambience of Cocteau Twins and The Smiths, whilst also incorporating guitar hooks and pop sensibilities of artists like Bruce Springsteen and Prince, to craft what is fast becoming his signature sound. Easy Tears new single, ‘The Avenue’, is a nostalgic, heavy guitar-driven debut that tells the story of a particular feeling we are all too familiar with. The moment when the night has reached its peak, you should have gone home hours ago and everyone you know is at their worst selves, with the blue single artwork and silhouette representing the light of those early morning hours. Produced by Sam Winfield (Fickle Friends, Amber Run), the song forms the perfect addition to your late night playlist. Speaking about his debut release, Easy Tears frontman Lewis Goswell said: “I really wanted to write a song about a specific place in time, somewhere that you had real some core memories. I feel like everyone has their own ‘Avenue’.”
