Hailing from an island off the coast of Alaska, Corey Hunter’s music is an ethereal meditation on life and love. Growing up in church choir, singing is a reverent flow state where he is most intimate with the divine and uses it as a way to process life’s complex emotions and journeys. His first EP Metamorphosis of Love (release date: September 7, 2022) is a heartfelt collaboration between his cousin Aaron Rennell (PD), and longtime friends Bria Park (Diamonde), Tate Tucker, and Shane Hazleton (Eternal Vibration). In addition to vocals and synths, live instrumentation on the songs include handpan (“All My Life”), handsonic/EWI (“You Are My Everything”), acoustic guitar (“Heal Memory”), electric guitar (“Let Go Control”), and garrihand (“Love Eternal”). Taking inspiration from artists like SOHN, Emmit Fenn, and Ry X—his sound is rooted in vapor soul, indie folk, electropop and alternative R&B. Honest, emotional, and grateful, his writing celebrates tears and joy as equally beautiful and inseparable parts of the incredible human journey we all share.
