Biddy Early

Biddy Early is a new four-piece alt-pop band from Breda, consisting of members from Windup Space, The Spvrk, Bony Macaroni and State Power. Their first single "Blasket Sound" tells the story of how a trip through Ireland led frontwoman Hannah to fall in love with the landscape, the culture, and even secretly with an Irishmen that showed her around the country in his mother's car. The melancholy, confusion and hyperboles she found herself in during and after her time in Ireland are the central themes of Blasket Sound. Biddy Early draws inspiration from bands like Ratboys, Pinegrove and Big Thief. Founded on a strong friendship, the band creates organic indie-rock songs, in which the beauty, chaos, and most of all the awkwardness in human relationships take center stage. Expect sensitivity and relatable self-deprecation, accompanied by fuzzy guitars and dreamy chords. At times calm and quiet, at times filled with energy and playful frustration, Biddy Early breathes new life into the historical ‘witch’, and she’s been cooking up something in her cauldron. The ingredients? Folk, pop and a fair dose of rattling indie guitar noise.
