A reflection of today’s world and some very personal, dark and sunny times.” After the first EP, released in April 2019, the Arnhem-based Soul-Pop Singer-Songwriter Bastian Steven decided to approach the release of new music in a very different way: "From October 2019, I released a new single every month for a year." An EP and 12 singles as a bundle of 18 songs with the overarching title: 'Disconnected'. A release tour in the US (Chicago, South Bend jazz festival, St Joseph Michigan) and various singles by Bastian Steven have been included in 'New Music Friday NL' and 'Soul 'N' the City' playlists on Spotify. In February 2020, Bastian performed these songs with a band at Luxor Live, and a live recording was made. "This evening was so special because the band and the audience shared the dance floor. Bastian Steven and the band positioned themselves in the middle of the room, with the audience surrounding them in 360 degrees. The audience and the band at the same level, on the same dance floor, create an amazing energy." On April 1, 2022, Bastian released "Biggest Friend." In this song, Bastian pays tribute to his deceased friend Jos Huigsloot, who passed away exactly 10 years ago on this date. This song immediately entered the 'New Music Friday NL' playlist on Spotify upon its release. In 2024, his new album will be released. For this album, Bastian collaborates with producer Jasper Zuidervaart (Chef Special, Jeangu Macrooy, Kris Berry). On this album, Bastian worked with many fantastic musicians, including Maarten Kooymans (drums Komodo), Sven Figee (Sven Hammond Soul), Keys by Timothy Banchet (Benjamin Herman, Gino cochise), Lorijn von Pickarts (MAAN) on lead guitar, and Strings by members of Dudok Quartet.
